Focus: Gender Health Gap
Gender-Equitable Medicine as a Field of Innovation
Health is not gender-neutral. The Health Innovation Network supports efforts to close the gender health (data) gap as an overarching focus area—for gender-equitable innovations in healthcare, medical technology, and digital health.
Why the Gender Health Gap Is a Topic for Innovation
The gender health gap demonstrates that health, diagnostics, and care do not function equally well for everyone. Biological differences, social factors, and gaps in data influence how diseases are detected, treated, and prevented.
Gender-responsive medicine addresses this issue: It highlights these differences and translates them into better research, more tailored therapies, more effective prevention, and user-centered health solutions—from FemTech to digital health to medical technology. 4P Medicine serves as a tool to make healthcare more personalized, participatory, preventive, and predictive—regardless of gender.
In the Health Innovation Network, we address the gender health gap holistically—with a solid scientific foundation, a practical approach, and across the entire innovation chain. Our programs create spaces for knowledge transfer, exchange, and concrete collaborations.
