The automotive industry is responsible for a significant proportion of prosperity and employment in Germany. Currently, the transformation to decarbonized and digital vehicles must be shaped by manufacturers and suppliers. This has specific regional implications, as significant parts of the automotive industry are concentrated in just over 100 out of 400 districts and independent cities. The presentation shows the important regions affected by the transformation and the progress of the transformation in Germany.

Shaping transformation, not suffering it - innovation dynamics need partners: successes and offers from transform.by

Moderation & impulse
In this workshop, we will exchange experiences on methods and best practices used to drive innovation and transformation in the company. In addition to a keynote speech on how to deal with the transformation of a typical SME, we will try to collect ideas as a "team" transformation to support an SME in its transformation and provide impetus.
Session 2: Digital services and business models for the automotive industry - trends and opportunities

Impulse
Harry Wagner,
At the beginning, you can expect an exciting and concise presentation on the topic:
"Automotive industry - on the way to the digital software-defined vehicle."
The train to the digital future has not yet left the station - but the doors are already closed!
The automotive industry is facing profound changes. Changing markets, new structures and innovative technologies are presenting the industry with major challenges. The upheaval has long since begun: The classic vehicle is increasingly becoming a digital end device. Against this backdrop, the question arises: What are the resulting requirements for the automotive industry? How can it respond effectively? And how competitive is the German automotive industry really in this new age?
In the workshop that follows, we will explore these questions and use a fresh and innovative methodological approach to jointly create space for new perspectives. We will explore the digital future of the automotive industry and analyze key trends, challenges and opportunities - especially in the area of digital services and new business models.
Impulse
Transformation can only succeed together. Employees often have far more skills than the supposedly known qualifications. In the workshop, we will work together to discover how hidden potential and transformative skills of employees can be discovered and promoted in a targeted manner in order to actively involve them in shaping change processes and the success of the company.
Moderation & impulse
ffw GmbH Gesellschaft für Personal- und Organisationsentwicklung,
In the transition from combustion engine production to e-mobility, jobs will disappear on the one hand and jobs will be created in other areas on the other. However, the "international automotive and supplier production" business ecosystem is undergoing fundamental change. Core competencies are being devalued and new ones are being created elsewhere in the world. The efficiency and competitiveness of production are determined by the quality of the production systems on the factory floors in Germany. Case study findings indicate that more team and group work combined with hybrid technology and participation-oriented lean philosophy is needed to create intelligent work systems. Group-based work systems are more likely to retain jobs in Germany and create good work for all.
How is the transformation changing the world of engineering? Old certainties are disappearing: mechanics are losing out, software is dictating. Global division of labour, agile methods and digital tools are challenging organizations, processes and minds. Time to rethink engineering.
In conversation with Gerhard Retzer (Works Council Cariad SE) and Carsten Präger (system developer and works council member in the supplier industry) about "China Speed", the tension between old and new - and sustainable paths for the future.
StMWi,
-
Strategic alignment and the company's technological innovations in response to a challenging market environment.
-
Ambidexterity through new combustion engine generation PPC with simultaneous electrification of the vehicle portfolio (PPE) and the strategic positioning in the premium segment
-
The importance of artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and sustainability for the future of Audi is also emphasized.
-
Key topics that outline the automotive industry's path to success
