GRS has been Germany's central specialist organization in the field of nuclear safety since 1977.
Information
GRS has been certified to ISO 9001 since 1997 (currently DIN ISO EN 9001:2015). Quality management covers all processes within the company and is part of GRS's integrated management system, which is audited annually.
The GRS Geosciences Laboratory is accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
GRS's information security management system is certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013. Since 2013, GRS has also been a participant in the Alliance for Cyber Security of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
Profile
GRS is a non-profit organization with locations in Cologne, Garching, Berlin and Braunschweig. It is mainly financed by publicly funded research projects and expert reports. The main clients and funding bodies are the BMUV, the BMBF, the BASE and the BfS. GRS also works on commissions from state authorities and the BGE. The most important international clients are the European Commission and the nuclear supervisory authorities of various countries.
