From leisure and sports equipment to a central component of a sustainable mobility transition
16.07.2024
At Eurobike, the world's largest bicycle trade fair, the hype surrounding the (e-)bike is palpable. Whether as a sporty mountain bike, a simple everyday bike or a cargo bike - the bicycle is versatile and has even become a status symbol. This makes it a central component of a sustainable mobility transition.

The transformation of the bicycle is omnipresent and was particularly noticeable at the last Eurobike in Frankfurt, the meeting place for the bike and future mobility scene. As a result, the bicycle is not only becoming a central component of a sustainable mobility transition, but also an economic factor, as the presence of numerous (Bavarian) manufacturers and suppliers makes clear.
Reason enough for Lukas Zillich from Networked Mobility at Bayern Innovativ to also get an idea of the trade fair and the innovations in the bicycle industry.
Lukas not only visited the exhibitors at the trade fair, but also took part as a speaker in the panel "The bicycle ecosystem in Germany - new data on cycling as an economic factor", which was organized by the Berlin bicycle agency velo_konzept GmbH.
The panel discussion showed, among other things, that networking and knowledge transfer are an important part of the industry.
The networking event "Innovations for the mobility of the future" on 23.10.2024 offers plenty of room for networking and exchange and will highlight the importance of bicycles in micromobility and concepts such as Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
