Bavarian Continuing Education Networks Engage in Dialogue
Networking for the Professional Development of Tomorrow's Workforce
October 22, 2026
How can continuing education networks better coordinate their activities, leverage synergies, and jointly advance workforce development in future-oriented industries?
In mid-October, representatives from various continuing education networks and education stakeholders gathered in Nuremberg to address this issue. The networking event was hosted by the B³ Bavarian Battery Education Network at the Haus der Bayern Innovativ. The focus was on exchanging ideas about education and continuing education within the energy and battery value chain, as well as identifying common areas for action. As diverse as their areas of focus may be, one thing unites all participants: they want to network continuing education more effectively and make it future-proof.
Stronger Through Networking
The transformation of the economy poses major challenges for companies and employees. New technologies and changing skill requirements make continuing education a key factor for success. In Bavaria, numerous initiatives are already supporting companies and employees with tailored training programs.
The networking meeting offered the participating continuing education networks the opportunity to get to know one another, exchange experiences, and provide transparency regarding their activities. The goal was to learn from one another, identify opportunities for collaboration, and better coordinate existing programs.
Raising Awareness of Projects, Identifying Potential
During the event, the participating initiatives presented their work. In addition to the B³ Battery Education Network Bavaria, represented by Bayern Innovativ, the SKZ, and the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) gGmbH, these included the projects TraWeBa, WiNBat, NAVI-BAT, EnerNET, EnerTECH+, and the EnergieKreis—continuing education programs offered by the Technical University of Ingolstadt, Landshut University of Applied Sciences, Hof University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Bayreuth. The panel was rounded out by the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Middle Franconia.
The project presentations highlighted the breadth of continuing education offerings across various future-oriented topics while also bringing common challenges to light. This creates concrete opportunities to share experiences, formats, and reach with one another.
Shaping the Future Together
The centerpiece of the meeting was a workshop in which participants presented planned activities and programs, identified overlaps, and discussed potential areas for cooperation. The focus was on shared themes, potential synergies, and better integration of the programs.
The open exchange highlighted the significant added value of stronger networking. New contacts were made, concrete starting points for further collaboration were identified, and valuable ideas for closer future cooperation were gathered.
Networking as an Ongoing Task
For Bayern Innovativ and the B³ Bavarian Battery Education Network, the meeting was more than just a one-time exchange. It demonstrated the importance of platforms that bring stakeholders together and promote the transfer of knowledge. The challenges of transformation are best overcome together—through cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and a strong network. The positive outcomes of the networking meeting encourage everyone to continue the dialogue that has begun. The participants therefore agreed to expand the exchange and further pursue common areas of collaboration.
