Dr. Thomas Helfer is head of the Working World 4.0 division and the Academy at Bayern Innovativ, Bayerische Gesellschaft für Innovation und Wissenstransfer mbH. His aim is to support people, companies and organizations in their transformation processes.

After completing vocational training in the natural sciences and technology, civilian service and second-chance education, he studied adult education, majoring in psychology, sociology and political science, as well as completing an additional degree in business administration and a certificate in knowledge and information management. This was followed by various professional positions in the fields of science and (further) education as well as an extra-occupational further education course in science management and a part-time doctorate in the field of education and science management.
