Leila D. Behjat, Dipl.-Ing. Arch., works at the intersection of material ecology, health, and design. As Director of Material Ecology at the Parsons Healthy Materials Lab and co-founder of Healthy Materials Lab EU gGmbH in Wiesbaden, she researches, curates, and advises on healthier, low-embodied, bio- and geogenic materials and methods for regenerative, toxin-free spaces. Her work encompasses architecture and design projects worldwide, as well as consulting with designers, organizations, municipalities, and an ongoing exploratory exchange with manufacturers. Leila leads the Lab’s partnership with the New European Bauhaus and serves as a DGNB consultant. She brings a cross-sector perspective on how material health thinking will transform mobility interiors into sources of well-being for people and ecosystems today.
