Leila D. Behjat, Dipl.-Ing. Arch., works at the intersection of material ecology, health, and design. As Director of Material Ecology at the Parsons Healthy Materials Lab and Co‑Founder of Healthy Materials Lab EU gGmbH in Wiesbaden, she researches, curates and advises on healthier, low‑embodied, bio‑ and geogenic materials and methods for regenerative, toxic‑free spaces. Her work spans architecture and design projects globally, as well as consulting with designers, organizations, municipalities and an ongoing explorative exchange with manufacturers. Leila leads the Lab’s partnership with the New European Bauhaus and is a DGNB consultant. She brings a cross‑sector perspective on how material health thinking will turn mobility interiors into contributors of wellbeing for people and ecosystems today.
