Profile

Presentation research facility:

The Lasercenter at Munich University of Applied Sciences is a world leading research institute focusing on industrial, scientific and life science applications of ultrafast lasers. Our main activities include applied research and teaching. We connect university with industry. We build know-how for our students with lectures and lab courses. Our core competence is creating fundamental understanding of laser processes by time-resolved experiments and simulations at the interface of physics and engineering. The group of the Multiphoton Imaging Lab consists of physicists who are developing advanced laser-scanning microscopy techniques to study biological systems with ultrashort pulsed lasers. Thereby, the sample shines in new colors which are produced by nonlinear optically processes such as SHG, TPEF, CARS and STED. Depending on the method, the image shows a specific contrast. Due to the nonlinear excitation we are able for three dimensional imaging in high resolution.
