Summary
Munich University of Applied Sciences is the largest university of applied sciences in the Free State of Bavaria and one of the largest of its kind in Germany.
Profile
Munich University of Applied Sciences is characterized by its excellent expertise in applied research and is a strong partner for companies working in the field of fibre composites, polymer technology and bonding in structural glass construction. The interdisciplinary approach in particular makes it possible to combine the expertise of several faculties in order to tackle complex research issues in the field of "new materials". The topics range from bio-based plastics and bio-based building materials for structural repair to new steel materials for infrastructure structures.
The Laboratory for Polymer Technology offers application-oriented studies on service life assessment for plastics such as polypropylene, polycarbonate, epoxy resin and fiber composites. The influence of raw materials on mechanical and thermal properties and recyclability is playing an increasingly important role in the research projects. The laboratory for steel and light metal construction deals with structural glass construction, steel construction, bonding technology in the construction industry and biocementation in the construction industry. Munich University of Applied Sciences has a wide range of testing and experimental facilities, including testing machines for all load ranges from mN to MN, exposure and climate chambers, and also enables fracture tests using scanning electron microscopy and other analyses.
