Profile

The EXIST research transfer project "GOLDEN DEVICES" at FAU develops additively manufactured components for high frequency technology. Highly innovative prototypes from laboratory production, such as waveguide slot antennas, will be presented to a broad professional audience for the first time at the Hannover Messe. Conventionally, such components are manufactured by means of metal cutting. This leads to well-known disadvantages, such as a limitation of the necessary design freedom, long delivery times and sometimes very high costs. GOLDEN DEVICES has succeeded in manufacturing high-performance high-frequency components using additive manufacturing of plastics and an innovative metallization concept developed in-house. The complex structures for frequency ranges up to 500 GHz are unique worldwide and open up high innovation potential for application areas such as aerospace.
