Thematic platform World of Work 4.0

Transformation and the world of work

Transformation is leading to far-reaching economic and socio-cultural changes in the world of work. Conversely, the world of work and therefore each individual employee is an important enabler when it comes to the successful implementation of transformation processes. The Working World 4.0 platform, which is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Family Affairs, Labor and Social Affairs (StMAS), promotes transformation processes from a neutral position, connects politics, business, works councils and employees from multiple perspectives and networks all relevant stakeholders.

The transformation of the world of work

The change in the world of work follows the same major themes as the transformation of the economy: digitalization, decarbonization and demographics. All of this has consequences for the question of which skills ("future skills") will be required in the future and how these skills can be acquired. Due to the constantly changing requirements, the topic of (vocational) education, higher education and lifelong learning will become even more important in the future. The focus here is on the question of which skills will become relevant in order to strengthen the innovative power of the economy and better realize the potential of the transformation. The Working World 4.0 topic platform is part of the Pact for Continuing Vocational Education and Training and makes particular use of the synergies with the Continuing Education Initiators (WBI) and Bavaria's central continuing education portal "komm weiter in B@yern".

AI in action in the fortiss Labs

What requirements will arise for companies and their employees? And how can science and business work together to shape the working day of the future? These were the central questions at the event "AI in action - The new world of work has already begun", which we organized together with fortiss and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Munich and Upper Bavaria.

"When digital and ecological transformation and the associated change in the world of work merge to become an enabler for sustainability, these transformation processes unleash completely new potential for the future viability of the economy and society."
