Workshop
Navigating Cross-Functional Innovation
29. July 2026
13:30 - 15:30
Bayern Innovativ, Christina Schepper-Bonnet,
In cross-innovative projects, how does the spark ignite through artistic vision and research, creative practice, and experience? How do different work cultures find common ground? How can collaboration on equal footing be achieved? How does a partnership emerge that everyone can commit to?
More than ever, innovations are not born on the drawing board, in the mind of a genius, or in isolation in a laboratory. They emerge in ecosystems where various stakeholders not only share material resources and infrastructure but can also foster agile exchanges and collaborate with an open-ended approach. This is particularly exciting—but also particularly challenging—when the participants come from very different fields or are working on an idea with a high degree of innovation—Arts & Tech, for example.
The workshop prepares artists and creative professionals to:
• to translate the effectiveness of their own skills and knowledge,
• recognize opportunities and levers for innovation,
• act with creative intuition without losing sight of their own economic interests,
• deal with tensions and misunderstandings as well as with the failure of ideas, and in doing so,
• take concrete action.
The workshop is aimed at artists and creative professionals from all disciplines and industries who are interested in cross-sectoral collaboration and innovation.
Twelve of the 24 available spots are reserved for participants in “Creativity Meets Robotics” (a cross-innovation trip to Ars Electronica 2026).
Following the workshop, innovative minds who bring creativity and technology together will meet for the third time this year.
After all, new ideas need strong networks!
For this reason, we’d like to once again create a space with a relaxed atmosphere where the worlds of art and technology can come together, exchange ideas, and further explore common ground. The 3rd Meet-up – CreativeTech for Impact also offers the perfect opportunity to get to know the participants of the Cross-Innovation Journey to Ars Electronica, deepen existing connections, and spark new ideas for collaborative exchange.
