The energy of the future needs the technologies of tomorrow. In this interdisciplinary and participatory network meeting, we will shed light on how novel materials are providing decisive impetus for the development of fusion energy.

Fusion energy is considered to be one of the most promising energy sources of the future. However, this technology places high demands on the materials used: components in fusion reactors are exposed to extreme mechanical and thermal stresses as well as high-energy radiation. Innovative manufacturing processes and new materials are needed to withstand these conditions in the long term and at the same time remain economically viable.

The networking event will demonstrate the role that additive manufacturing and new material solutions can play in the development and implementation of fusion reactors. The program will be supplemented by specialist presentations and keynotes that will provide an interdisciplinary insight into the current challenges and solutions at the interface between fusion and materials technology.

At the same time, the network meeting offers a platform for targeted exchange between previously little-networked players. The aim is to establish new contacts, develop joint perspectives and identify potential synergies.

The networking event is aimed at specialists and managers from the fields of fusion development, materials science and engineering, additive manufacturing / 3D printing and reactor systems.
In particular, companies that are already active in the field of nuclear fusion or would like to find out about entry opportunities and are looking for initial points of contact with relevant players and technologies are invited.
