Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of the European economy - and that is precisely why the EU wants to incorporate their perspectives more strongly into political decisions. With the SME Feedback Mechanism, the European Commission offers a direct opportunity to contribute challenges, suggestions for improvement and experiences from everyday business life.
The aim of SME feedback
- Better legislation: feedback is incorporated into new or revised EU directives
- Practical relevance: political measures are to be made more realistic and business-friendly
- Dialogue at eye level: the EU does not want to talk about SMEs, but with them
Advantages for companies

- Visibility of specific problems in the internal market
- Support from the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), which forwards the feedback anonymously
- Access to solutions for cross-border problems via SOLVIT and Your Europe Advice
Current participation opportunities
The "Have your say" platform offers access to ongoing consultations. SMEs can give direct feedback on planned legislative initiatives - simply, free of charge and transparently.
