The Munich-based energy company “The Mobility House” is selling its electric vehicle fleet business to the French company Edenred.
The Mobility House is divesting its “The Mobility House Solutions” business unit. According to a press release, the buyer is the French mobility and payment service provider Edenred. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. The companies did not disclose the purchase price.
The Mobility House Solutions develops, implements, and operates charging infrastructure for commercial electric vehicle fleets. According to the company, it serves more than 5,000 customers and manages over 2,500 actively managed fleet depots. Approximately 60 employees work in this business unit. Going forward, the company will operate under the name “Edenred e-Mobility GmbH.”
For the time being, there will be no operational changes for customers or employees. Existing contracts will remain unchanged, and according to the company, services will continue to be provided as before. “The team will remain together in its current form at The Mobility House’s office in Munich,” the announcement states.
“Window of Opportunity”
The Mobility House cites current market trends as the reason for the sale. The market for the electrification of commercial fleets is growing rapidly and is simultaneously undergoing a phase of consolidation. The company is therefore seizing a “window of opportunity to transfer The Mobility House Solutions to a strong, focused owner who can fully capitalize on market growth.”
According to its own information, Edenred is one of the leading global B2B mobility service providers, with more than 300,000 corporate customers in Europe and Latin America. With this acquisition, the company is expanding its offerings related to fleet electrification.
The transaction also includes the “ChargePilot” charging and energy management system. However, North America and the Asia-Pacific region are exceptions. In those regions, the development and sales of ChargePilot will remain with The Mobility House.
“The acquisition significantly strengthens our position in the electric mobility market for B2B customers, particularly in supporting private and semi-public charging needs through the installation of charging points at workplaces and depots,” explained Diane Coliche, Global Chief Operating Officer Mobility at Edenred.
Focus on Vehicle-to-Grid and Energy Trading
With this sale, The Mobility House is shifting its focus more strongly toward its energy business. Going forward, the company will concentrate in particular on vehicle-to-grid applications, stationary storage, and the commercialization of battery flexibility.
Part of the agreement therefore includes a commercial partnership between Edenred and The Mobility House Energy GmbH: electric vehicles are to be used as flexible energy storage units during their downtime to generate additional revenue.
Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Mobility House and former CEO of Volkswagen, sees this as the foundation for the company’s further development. “The sale of our successful fleet and charging solutions business to Edenred will make us significantly faster and more efficient at our core,” said Diess. “As a next-generation energy provider, we want to supply households and cars with energy at unimaginably low prices. Focus is essential to achieving this.”
