A chart is worth a thousand words: In a current infographic, we regularly highlight figures from the energy sector.
In 2024, onshore and offshore wind energy generated around 29% of the total gross electricity in Germany. Most recently, there were over 28,500 onshore turbines on land, while around 1,500 offshore turbines in German waters fed electricity into the grid. The data comes from the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW), the Federal Statistical Office, the European Energy Exchange EEX, VGB PowerTec and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW).
