Reverion Secures $175 Million for New Megafactory

Up to 800 new jobs at the new production site in Germany

October 2, 2026

The Bavarian energy startup Reverion has completed a $175 million funding round. The capital will be used to build a new megafactory designed to increase production of its highly efficient power plants tenfold.

Reverion has completed a Series B funding round totaling $175 million. The capital will be used to further scale the technology and establish a new production facility in Germany. The planned megafactory is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 250 megawatts and create up to 800 new jobs.

The Bavarian energy tech company develops reversible fuel cell power plants that convert gas into electricity without combustion. When operating on biogas, the plants can operate with a negative CO₂ footprint. At the same time, they can be switched to electrolysis mode to convert excess electricity into storable gases. With an electrical efficiency of 74.2 percent measured at a customer site, Reverion describes its technology as the most efficient thermal power plant in the world.

With its plants, Reverion aims to offer a solution to the growing demand for a reliable and climate-friendly power supply. Data centers, in particular, require large amounts of energy but are increasingly reaching the limits of existing power grids. Reverion’s power plants can generate electricity from biogas, natural gas, or hydrogen directly at the point of consumption, thereby enabling a continuous supply.
