Dr. Maria Hammer took over the management of the Energy Campus Nuremberg (EnCN) and Nuremberg Campus of Technology (NCT) office at the beginning of 2025.
Dr. Hammer, a graduate engineer and expert in photovoltaics, has extensive experience in science, teaching and project management. Her career has taken her through leading research institutions, most recently as Managing Director of the FAU Profile Center Solar.
"I am looking forward to actively shaping the future of the EnCN and NCT," emphasizes Dr. Hammer. Her aim is to further advance interdisciplinary research work and expand cooperation with industry and science partners. In the field of renewable energies in particular, she wants to develop sustainable solutions for the energy transition and strengthen the region's innovative power.
The EnCN has established itself as a central platform for excellent energy research and is supported by the City of Nuremberg and partners such as FAU, Nuremberg Institute of Technology and Fraunhofer IISB. Dr. Andrea Heilmaier, Economic Affairs Officer of the City of Nuremberg, praises the campus as a "stroke of luck for Nuremberg", which positions the city as a leading energy technology location.
Prof. Dr. Christoph Brabec, Scientific Director of the EnCN, is convinced that Dr. Hammer's vision and expertise will have a lasting impact on the campus. The EnCN will continue to act as an important player in the energy transition and as a bridge between science and industry.
