Sonnen is launching a commercial energy storage system and a new energy management system for small and medium-sized businesses.

The energy storage provider Sonnen has introduced a new solution for commercial customers with the “Pro Compact 261” and the “Pro EMS” energy management system.

The battery storage system has a capacity of 261 kWh and a power output of 125 kW. According to the company, the system can be installed both indoors and outdoors. Multiple storage units can be cascaded to meet higher demands. An emergency power function is available as an option, which can continue to supply critical loads during power outages. The target audience includes companies in the industrial, skilled trades, logistics, and agricultural sectors, according to a press release from the manufacturer.
The storage solution is complemented by “Pro EMS.” According to Sonnen, the energy management system operates on a forecast-based model and supports applications such as self-consumption optimization, peak load management, atypical grid usage, and load control for time-varying electricity rates and grid fees.

To integrate existing technology, the provider relies on an open system architecture. Among other things, it supports charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, metering systems, and heat pumps from various manufacturers, the statement adds. Users will be able to monitor energy flows and system data in real time via an app and an online portal.

“Companies can drastically reduce their energy costs, intelligently manage peak loads, and finally make energy planning possible again,” says Andreas Plenk, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Sonnen, promoting the solution.
