The closing conference of the MultiSource research project will showcase innovative concepts for sustainable heat supply and the smart use of various renewable heat sources.

On November 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the closing conference of the MultiSource research project will take place at LAGARDE1 – Center for Digitalization in Bamberg. The event offers insights into the project’s research findings and highlights innovative approaches to sustainable and climate-friendly heat supply.

MultiSource focuses on investigating the interaction of various environmental heat sources within a cold district heating network. This involves combining geothermal collectors installed in open areas and beneath residential buildings, geothermal probes, and a wastewater heat exchanger. By centrally integrating these heat sources, decentralized heat pumps can be operated flexibly and efficiently.

The venue, the Lagarde Campus in Bamberg, provides the ideal setting for this. This forward-looking urban district serves as a real-world laboratory for innovative Heat 4.0 solutions and demonstrates how renewable energies and smart heating networks can be successfully implemented in urban areas.

The closing conference is organized by BVG Geothermie Kommunikation GmbH, a subsidiary of the German Geothermal Association (Bundesverband Geothermie).

Date: November 19, 2026, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Location: LAGARDE1 – Center for Digitalization, Nathan-R.-Preston-Str. 1, 96052 Bamberg
