The Federal Network Agency is also retaining the current maximum value for future innovation tenders.
9.18 cents/kWh will apply for innovation tenders in the following twelve months. This corresponds to the current maximum value, according to a statement from the Federal Network Agency.
"By maintaining this maximum value, we are also ensuring that the framework conditions in this segment remain stable. We have now set the maximum values for all tenders in 2024," explained Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency. The authority had raised the maximum value last year in order to reflect the increased costs.
Without a new determination, the maximum value would have fallen back to the legally prescribed 7.28 cents/kWh. Based on experience from previous bidding rounds, the Federal Network Agency estimated that it could be assumed that no bids would be received for this, or at least a bid volume significantly below the tender volume. The innovation tenders would therefore not be able to make their contribution to the goal of transforming to a sustainable and greenhouse gas-neutral electricity supply.
The current specification is intended to enable companies to submit adequate bids on the one hand and to create a framework that enables competition for funding on the other, according to the federal authority.
Further information on the innovation tenders can be found on the website of the Federal Network Agency.
