The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy has launched the "Innovations in the heating, cooling and electricity sector" ideas competition.
Companies from Bavaria can submit their project ideas from April 13 to July 3, 2026.
The aim of the competition is to make pioneering research and development projects visible and support their further development. The focus is on innovative approaches that use renewable energies, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy efficiency.
Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger emphasizes the importance of the competition for the future of energy: new technological solutions in the areas of heating, cooling and electricity are crucial to strengthening the innovative power and competitiveness of the Bavarian economy. The competition should help to bring good ideas into practical application more quickly.
Particularly promising projects will be honored at the "Bavarian Energy Research and Innovation Day" event in October 2026, with Bavarian State Secretary for Economic Affairs Tobias Gotthardt presenting the awards.
In addition to the award, the winners will have the opportunity to apply for funding as part of the Bavarian Energy Research Program, provided that the relevant funding criteria are met.
Companies with a registered office or branch in Bavaria are eligible to take part. With this competition, the state government aims to develop innovation potential and promote concrete solutions for the energy transition.
