The 34th C.A.R.M.E.N. Symposium will take place in Straubing on July 6 and 7, 2026.

Under the motto "Sustainable. Innovative. Networked." the event will focus on current developments in the fields of energy, raw materials and the bioeconomy. Registration is already open and an early bird discount is available until May 8.

The program comprises a total of nine specialist blocks covering a wide range of topics relating to the energy transition. These include the future of forests and wood as a regional resource, heating grids as a key technology, load management and grid integration as well as the circular economy and new raw materials. Flexible heating systems, biogas solutions and energy applications in agriculture are also part of the program.

One focus is on the system integration of renewable energies. In the specialist block "Smart & Flexible: Load management and grid integration in the energy system", moderated by Ina Schabesberger from Bayern Innovativ GmbH, experts will discuss the integration of storage systems into the distribution grid, the current status of vehicle-to-grid applications and possibilities for holistic energy management for industry, commerce and municipalities.

The symposium also offers space for networking and interdisciplinary exchange. Collaborations with the TUM Campus Straubing and the Technology and Funding Center add scientific perspectives to the program.

With its broad thematic approach, the C.A.R.M.E.N. Symposium is aimed at experts from business, science and the public sector who want to find out about current developments and network.
