Seeking Circular Connection Technology for Load-Bearing Wood Construction Systems
October 19, 2026
An Austrian company active in the field of sustainable timber construction is seeking an innovative joining technology for load-bearing wall, roof, and ceiling elements made of prefabricated wood panels. The solution should combine high mechanical performance with ease of installation, material safety, reusability, and long-term system compatibility.
Requirements
The connection technology sought must transmit vertical, horizontal, and dynamic loads, allow for repeated assembly and disassembly, and be integrable into industrial prefabrication processes. Of particular importance are non-destructive disassembly, multiple usage cycles, recyclable or low-emission materials, PFAS-free composition, REACH compliance, and the avoidance of substances of very high concern (SVHC).
At the system level, the solution is designed to offer standardized, interoperable interfaces, be compatible with existing and future generations of panels, and support future expansions, retrofits, and new material innovations. This is intended to contribute to the reduction of construction waste, the preservation of component value, and climate-neutral construction.
Sought-After Partners and Forms of Cooperation
We are seeking technology providers, engineering firms, materials specialists, manufacturers of fastening systems, as well as universities and research institutions. Possible forms of cooperation include a commercial agreement with technical support and/or a research and development partnership—for the adaptation of existing solutions, joint development, testing, certification, and industrial implementation.
