RTIT Guidebook Published

Drivers for Successful Innovation Transfer

June 24, 2026

How can research results be put into practice more quickly, effectively, and sustainably? The new RTIT Guidebook provides answers and concrete solutions.

As part of the Interreg Danube project RTIT (“Know-how Communities for Accelerating RTI Transfer”), project partners from several countries jointly developed and tested tools, methods, and best practices to improve the transfer of research, technology, and innovation (RTI). The goal of this activity was to specifically transfer the project results to the business sector, innovation ecosystems, and the policy level, and to strengthen their long-term impact.
The guidebook summarizes these results in a structured manner and makes them available to a broad audience—ranging from companies and research institutions to clusters and policymakers.

The focus is on:

  • Validated tools and methods that were successfully tested in the project
  • Best practices and success stories from the partner regions
  • Insights into the opportunities and challenges of innovation transfer
  • Recommendations for implementation in organizations and programs

A special focus is placed on the areas of materials and production technologies—fields characterized by high innovation dynamics and strategic importance for Europe.
The guidebook is available in two versions: as a comprehensive publication and as a concise summary featuring the most important findings and recommendations for action.
With this guidebook, the project aims to ensure knowledge transfer beyond the project’s duration and to encourage new stakeholders to adopt the developed solutions.

You can download the guidebook from the RTIT project website.
