For a healthy future

INTERATIO-MediTec GmbH is a family-run medical technology company based in Steinach in Lower Bavaria. Founded in 1993 and now managed by the second generation, almost 25 employees work to reliably supply hospitals and clinics in the field of orthopaedics and trauma surgery. The company specializes in modern cementing technology and cutting instruments and covers the entire cementing process chain.

INTERATIO-MediTec combines functional product solutions with clearly structured services. Cooperation with customers and partners is characterized by personal contacts, reliable availability and prompt responsiveness. As an SME, the company consciously sees itself as agile, adaptable and willing to change - this flexibility is a strength in daily competition with international global players.

At INTERATIO-MediTec, sustainability aspects are already taken into account during product development. This can be seen, for example, in a hybrid reusable lavage system (NEPTUNUS e-Motion) with patented electrical technology, which helps to reduce CO₂ emissions as well as plastic and electrical waste and combines medical safety with practical handling.

At the same time, the company faces various challenges in the context of sustainability. In addition to competition from major market players, regulatory requirements in particular - for example with regard to the circular economy and R strategies - require a high level of organizational and technical effort. In addition, sustainable decisions in day-to-day hospital operations are often influenced by questions of financing and security of supply.

Against this backdrop, the motivation for the sustainability assessment was clear: an honest assessment of the current situation, objective benchmarking and a better focus on the company's own activities. The assessment was not intended to serve as a one-off snapshot, but as a basis for continuous readjustment and further development in all areas of sustainability.

The concrete added value lies above all in the external, expert evaluation by the EEN and the possibility of comparison with other companies. The implementation, the depth of the questions and the clear structure of the assessment were particularly convincing. The concept of going into the process without prior knowledge of the questions in particular enabled a very open, honest and at the same time productive joint discussion. The personal support - from the organization to the on-site appointment at the company - was also perceived as extremely appreciative and professional.

"The results of the assessment not only provide our company with orientation, create transparency and help to set priorities in a targeted manner, but also strengthen confidence in the path we have taken and at the same time serve as a reference work for future endeavors. Because "If you stop improving, you stop being good." Accordingly, the assessment is recommended without reservation. Special thanks to Dr. Angloher-Reichelt and Dr. Blumenroth for their dedication and commitment!"
