Advancing energy efficiency together: New BEEN-i network founded in Berchtesgadener Land and Chiemgau

Just how much potential there is in joint networking became clear on April 22, 2026 at Wäscherei Abel KG in Anger.

As part of an information event on the Bavarian Energy Efficiency Network Initiative (BEEN-i), numerous companies from the Berchtesgadener Land and Chiemgau regions came together to discuss ways to systematically increase energy efficiency in their own businesses and benefit from the knowledge and experience of others.

The focus of the event was the establishment of a new regional energy efficiency network for the Berchtesgadener Land and Chiemgau regions. The aim is to connect companies across sectors, develop practical solutions and tap into concrete potential for saving energy, costs and emissions.

Insights into the BEEN-i network work

Together with strong regional partners, the structure and mode of operation of the BEEN-i networks were presented. Participants were given an overview of how the networks are structured, what support they offer and what long-term added value the collaboration creates for companies. This was supplemented by current assessments of developments in the energy industry and their relevance for operational decisions.

The benefits of networking were made particularly tangible by reports from several years of BEEN-i practice. Companies from industry, the healthcare sector and the hotel industry described how they have implemented concrete measures, optimized processes and reduced energy costs in the long term through the exchange within the network. The common conclusion: structured networking works - professionally, economically and strategically.

Motivation for the next step

The event made it clear that there is great interest in continuing and intensifying the cooperation. This is precisely where the new energy efficiency network comes in, which is currently open to companies from the Berchtesgadener Land and Chiemgau regions. The network is looking for companies that want to improve their energy efficiency in a targeted manner, strengthen their competitiveness and benefit from the exchange of experience at eye level.

Bayern Innovativ is the coordination office of the BEEN-i initiative commissioned by the StMWi and supports the development of the network. Bayern Innovativ supports companies in the organization, moderation and technical design of the cooperation.
