EU Project BAUHALPS Gains Momentum

The Interreg project BAUHALPS – Building Circular in the Alpine Space aims to make the construction sector in the Alpine region more sustainable and future-oriented. Together with partners from Italy, France, Slovenia, Germany, and Switzerland, the project is developing solutions that integrate ecological, social, technical, and cultural aspects. The project launched on September 1, 2024, and will run for three years. BAUHALPS is currently in the pilot phase.
The consortium is testing the BAUHALPS toolkit and discussing the initial progress of the pilot projects. Together with Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences and Holzforum Allgäu, BAYINNO presented the concept of micro-neighborhoods using the example of a private housing development project in Dickenreishausen near Memmingen. In addition, initial results from a survey on the toolkit’s effectiveness were presented.
These findings form an important basis for revising and further developing the toolkit in the third work package (WP3). The goal is to optimize existing open-source tools while also taking into account the needs of local communities and the specific challenges of Alpine regions.
