Company: Genua GmbH
Position: PQC Forscher

Stefan-Lukas Gazdag is a cryptographer in the "Research and Innovation" department at genua GmbH. He has been working on future-proof infrastructures and applied cryptography since 2013. He carried out the squareUP research project funded by IuK-Bayern and worked on the publication of the quantum-resistant signature method XMSS as IETF RFC 8391. This is now recommended by the German BSI and the US NIST, among others, for suitable use cases such as software updates. The BMBF-funded QuaSiModO research project subsequently focused on quantum-resistant virtual private networks (VPNs). All this work led, for example, to quantum-resistant software updates and a PQ-VPN in the VPN appliance genuscreen with approval for VS-NfD. He is currently involved in the BMBF-funded projects AMiQuaSy on post-quantum migration and "Quantum Secure Digital Rail" (QUDIS), among others. His goal is to translate academic research into secure and practicable applications and implementations. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science.
