Sebastian Geldhäuser completed his M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Digital Engineering at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences in 2022.

He had already been working as a student trainee at the Institute of Textile Technology Augsburg (ITA) since 2019, where he initially devoted himself to research into the recycling of fiber composites. There he gained experience in the processing of recycled staple fibers into hybrid nonwovens and further processing into web-based composites in thermoforming.

Sebastian Geldhäuser has been a research associate at the ITA since 2022 and is working on the digitalization of textile production and recycling processes using artificial intelligence methods. He has also held the position of team leader in the field of digitalization and AI since 2025.
