Karsten Peddinghaus graduated from the Technical University of Darmstadt in 1997 with a degree in industrial engineering.
After working as an assistant to the managing director at a medium-sized automotive supplier, Karsten Peddinghaus joined BMW AG in 1999, where he took on functions in purchasing and vehicle projects before becoming Head of Corporate Functions for a division with over 1,000 employees. He then spent eight years in Group Strategy, where he was responsible for the transformation to electromobility, the make-or-buy strategy, new business models and various projects, including the selection of new locations.
Since the beginning of 2022, Karsten Peddinghaus has been the department head responsible for sustainability activities in research and the BMW Group's funding activities.
