Gerd Engelhardt
Gerd Engelhardt studied precision engineering at Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences. After starting his career with an automotive supplier, he worked at the LGA (Bavarian State Institute for Trade and Industry) in the product testing department, where his roles included that of laboratory manager. In recent years, he has worked as a CE consultant and trainer at TÜV Rheinland Consulting GmbH.
His areas of specialisation are providing information and advice on product safety and CE marking, as well as on the application of standards. He has particular expertise in the application of the Machinery Directive, the Low Voltage Directive, the EMC Directive and the General Product Safety Directive, and their implementation in operational practice.
He also has many years’ experience as a trainer and consultant in the areas of the application of product safety regulations and standards, risk assessment, the CE marking process, and technical documentation.
At Bayern Innovativ, he works as a project manager for standards and CE marking, and is active within the ‘Enterprise Europe Network’.
