After completing his A-levels at Olching Grammar School, Andreas Hackner began studying Business Administration at the University of Augsburg. During his studies, he specialised in Finance & Information. Mr Hackner gained his first practical experience through work placements at companies including Munich RE AG, KraussMaffei Group GmbH and New Balance. After completing his degree, he took over as head of the Learning and Service Centre at the Faculty of Economics and, whilst working full-time, completed his PhD at the Chair of Business Informatics & Management Support. In his doctoral thesis, Mr Hackner developed a web application that helps teams reduce stress by providing real-time data from stress measurements. His work focused on business analytics and operations, as well as on UX design, big data analysis and predictive analytics. 

In June 2021, he took up a role at Bayern Innovativ as Technology Transfer Manager at the Augsburg site, where he is responsible for active network management, ensuring the identification of cooperation partners from the research and business sectors and the identification of partners for collaborative research projects. 

He has been Head of the Mechatronics & Automation Cluster since December 2023.
