In the Institute of Automotive Engineering and Powertrain Systems (IFAS), the Chair of Automotive Engineering (Prof. Dr.-Ing. M. Meywerk) and  the Chair of Powertrain Systems Engineering (Prof. Dr.-Ing. W. Thiemann) have joined forces. The two professorships cooperate in research and teaching as well as in the laboratory.

Propulsion Systems Engineering Laboratory - Test Benches The laboratory for drive system technology operates 7 engine test benches, as well as dieverse component test benches, which are built up a test field.  Two of the test benches are equipped with research engines, on the remaining ones series aggregates are used. The test stands serve for the execution of research work, diploma and study work.
