Information

Example 1) Thermoplastic printed circuit board: Our chair succeeded in developing a new class of printed circuit boards based on HT thermoplastics that do not require additional flame retardants to meet flame resistance requirements. Furthermore, they can be recycled and continuously processed.

Example 2) Fiber composites have the potential to be used as a standard material for the mass transportation sector. Especially for the application in the visible area a Class A surface is necessary. Currently we are working on the modification and characterization of CFRP/GFRP to achieve a tailored surface topography.

Example 3) Insulation systems: In electrical and power engineering, the performance of a component is largely determined by its electrical insulation. At the chair, intensive research has been carried out for several years on the development of innovative insulation systems based on nanocomposites.
