Disassembly analysis:   The automobile, as one of the most complex durable industrial goods, has more than 100,000 individual articles in its assembly, which consist of a wide variety of materials. These articles are connected to each other in assemblies and subassemblies by a variety of joining techniques. It is this heterogeneous mix of materials and fasteners that makes the creation of a recycling strategy quite difficult. The basis of any meaningful recycling strategy is therefore the conscientious disassembly and analysis of each individual component and its presentation in the overall context of all components in the vehicle. Process design: It is also true for Sustainable Product Design that although many documents and process instructions are available for implementation, the implementation of the specifications in the company sometimes leaves much room for improvement. In order to provide remedy here, it is first necessary to accomplish an inventory analysis in form of an audit. Here the existing documents are examined for completeness and their communication ways, inclusive the communication interfaces, are analyzed. Similarly, it is examined who uses these or other documents and information in order to take account of the objective of sustainable product design. In the second step, based on the results of the audit, potential for improvement is generated and backed up with measures. The aim is to provide the person responsible for the component with the right information at the right time and, if necessary, to offer him training opportunities. Finally, the process modules for sustainable product design are integrated into the general process landscape.
