Spritmonitor.de is the central German website on the subject of fuel consumption and cost analysis of vehicles. Meanwhile über 200,000 users are registered, which together über 240,000 vehicles überwachen. Spritmonitor.de supports both normal gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles as well as bivalent (i.e. LPG and natural gas-powered) vehicles. Consumption monitoring of electric vehicles is currently under development. Long-term plans include permanent monitoring of driving situations for even more detailed analysis and, if necessary, direct feedback to the driver. In a first step, smartphones will be used for this purpose; direct integration into the vehicle or navigation device would be desirable through cooperation with appropriate manufacturers. Spritmonitor.de is very interested in participating in pilot projects.
