REWAG Regensburger Energie- und Wasserversorgung AG & Co KG

REWAG Regensburger Energie- und Wasserversorgung AG & Co KG is a regional energy and drinking water supplier that supplies electricity, natural gas, heat and drinking water to more than 200,000 private households and business customers. REWAG was founded in 1976 and currently employs around 400 people to ensure a convenient and reliable supply of energy and drinking water in the region. REWAG has developed from a pure energy supplier to a decentralized energy producer. It focuses on environmentally friendly energy projects such as the construction of efficient energy generation and heating plants and the expansion of the charging infrastructure for electromobility with 100% green power.

Climate-neutral electromobility for Regensburg and the region

Since 2015, REWAG has been building an infrastructure through which electric vehicles can be supplied with 100 percent green electricity through a dense network of charging stations.

The energy supplier sees this as an important contribution to the energy transition. By providing the charging pillar infrastructure, it wants to break down the 'chicken-and-egg principle', increase the acceptance of e-mobility and offer citizens in Regensburg and the region concrete incentives for electromobility. REWAG plans to operate 320 charging pillars by 2023, i.e. around 640 charging points.
