Green City AG is the first urban sustainability company to combine the three central fields of action: energy, mobility and urban design. The majority shareholder is the non-profit environmental organization Green City e.V. Green City AG sees itself as a pacemaker for the energy and transport turnaround, covers a clearly defined range of services and is divided into five business units.

As a subsidiary of the environmental protection association Green City e.V., Green City AG makes a significant contribution to a resource-independent and climate-friendly energy supply through 100% renewable energies as well as the fastest possible transition to the age of electromobility. In order to make the energy and transport transition a reality, the company focuses on the business areas Renewables, Power, Finance, Drive and Experience. Green City AG has been honored for its high sustainability standards with the European Solar Prize 2017, the Sustainability Award, the TÜV seal "Wegbereiter der Energiewende", the Energy Globe Award and the Best Community Award, among others. The sustainability rating agency oekom research also rates Green City AG with Prime status B.
