DigiMilchPro – Digitalization in Dairy Production

DigiMilchPro is researching examples of how digital technologies, artificial intelligence, optimized data management, and device networking can be used to improve animal welfare and farm and pasture management in dairy production. DigiMilchPro consists of four subprojects (SP). SP 1 focuses on data management and data networking in the field and in grassland management. SP 2 investigates digitally collected data—including in combination with AI—to improve animal welfare with regard to lameness detection and heat stress. SP 3 focuses on the combination of automated feeding systems (AMS) and pasture, as well as virtual pasture fences, while SP 4 ensures the transfer of knowledge based on the findings. The Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture (LfL) is responsible for coordination and the work packages from all subprojects. The scientific partners are Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.
