MitMesh is developing a purely software-based communication platform that connects commercially available smartphones via off-grid mechanisms to form a decentralized, self-organizing network. The focus is on resilient device-to-device communication, opportunistic routing and overcoming range and infrastructure limitations in highly dynamic environments. The technology has a modular design and can be integrated as an SDK or stand-alone application. In the security environment, MitMesh addresses the last mile of crisis communication on the citizen side. The platform supplements professional systems with a resilient bottom-up channel and enables a controlled BOS connection to improve situational awareness and targeted communication.

MitMesh is a purely software-based platform for resilient off-grid communication in the event of grid overload, outages and crises. The solution connects smartphones via decentralized d2D mechanisms to form a self-organizing network that remains functional without mobile communications, internet or central infrastructure.
MitMesh uses Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi Direct in combination with opportunistic routing, energy-efficient protocols and privacy-by-design without permanent location tracking. The platform is available as a stand-alone app and in the form of an SDK. MitMesh is designed as a dual-use technology. The platform primarily addresses civilian use cases such as event security, disaster control and municipal resilience and is also compatible with security-related scenarios. MitMesh is designed as a software-based precursor to 6G sidelink communication and a controlled BOS connection enables it to be embedded in existing command and information structures.
