Information
THEVA develops robust HTS high-performance conductors specifically for use in high-field magnet construction and provides support in the design and manufacture of HTS solenoid coils. Due to their high current density in the magnetic field and their high mechanical strength, only HTS conductors are suitable for generating extremely high spring 15+T and for operation far above the boiling temperature of helium. Compared to LTS magnets, HTS magnets can therefore be cooled with far less effort and greater efficiency and are very robust in operation. THEVA works intensively with institutes in fusion research and our HTS managers are qualified by the most important fusion players.
Profile
THEVA is the only European manufacturer of high-temperature superconductors (HTS) for magnet construction and electrical energy transmission. HTS strip conductors are the central material and indispensable for the construction of compact fusion reactors with magnetic plasma confinement (tokamak, stellerator).
