Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based infection research (HIRI)

The Helmholtz Center's mission is to help meet the challenges that infectious diseases pose to medicine and society in the 21st century. The scientists investigate the mechanisms of infectious diseases and their defenses. The center systematically develops the results of basic research towards medical application. The Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research - "HIRI" for short - is a joint research center of the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research. The focus is on so-called ribonucleic acids.
