Profile
The Helmholtz Institute Ulm (HIU) is engaged in research and development of next-generation and next-but-one-generation electrochemical battery concepts for the success of the energy transition and electromobility.
The HIU was founded by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). As a member of the Helmholtz Association, it launched the new facility in cooperation with the University of Ulm and integrated the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW).
The HIU efficiently bundles the different competencies of the four partners, enabling profound progress in energy storage research in the medium to long term. Basic and applied research are brought together here under one roof.
Services:
- Battery research
- Further training and promotion of young researchers
