The Institute for Circular Economy of Bio:Polymers (ibp) at Hof University of Applied Sciences is a research and development institute focused on sustainable polymer solutions and industrial circular economy. As a partner to academia and industry, the institute develops innovative materials, products, and technologies throughout the entire life cycle of polymers and composite materials

The institute’s application-oriented research focuses on the development of Bio:Polymers and Bio:Composites, the utilisation of renewable raw materials, circular product design and innovative recycling and restabilisation technologies. By combining materials science, process engineering, digitalisation and AI, the ibp supports companies in developing sustainable and future-oriented solutions. 

The research and development activities are focused on four areas of expertise:

• AI-enabled Circular Design
• Polymer Degradation, Restabilisation and Recycling Technologies 

Through contract research, research services and collaborative projects, the ibp bridges the gap between scientific knowledge and industrial application, making an active contribution to a sustainable circular economy.
