Funding conditions

What is funded?

Funding is provided for

• Personnel expenses,
• Material expenses,
• travel expenses (in accordance with BayRKG) and
• in justified exceptional cases, external services

up to a maximum total of €300,000.

The following arenot eligible

• Room rents, depreciation and administrative overheads.

Bavarian state universities are eligible to apply.

The funding rate is 100%. Double funding is excluded.

The project must

• go beyond the state of the art,
• have clear unique selling points and
• have a sufficient follow-up capability (positive continuation prognosis).

Projects arenot supported if they

• have already been started prior to the decision on the university's application
• are carried out on behalf of and for the account of third parties

The following applies to the validation program:

• The protection of the invention or research results under intellectual property law must be clarified.
• The holder of the property rights must be the applicant.
• The research activities supported must not indirectly benefit persons who have already founded a company to commercialize the invention to be validated.
• The project must be assigned to the non-commercial part of the university.

There are corresponding calls for funding, possibly with a thematic focus.

The project must be allocated to the non-economic part. If the applicant institution carries out both economic and non-economic activities, only the non-economic activities of the institution can be funded. The higher education institution must therefore be able to guarantee a clear financial and substantive distinction from the economic activities.

The university manages the budget funds and must adhere to the requirements of budgetary law. It is responsible for the economical and earmarked use of funds in accordance with the guidelines.

The university is obliged to submit reports and numerical evidence on time.
