One thing is clear: the world of mobility is changing radically and will continue to change, not least as a result of digitization. But what exactly does this change look like? Are we already in the middle of it or just at the very beginning? What impact will this change have on our society and the fulfillment of our individual mobility needs? Which technologies will be successful in the long term? Which business models can we build on in the future? How can the huge innovation potential of digitalization be used for mobility? Can it be used to save our environment, our planet? Um dieses…

Who thinks mobility laterally?

Only companies, municipalities, scientists, people who have an answer to these questions will be successful in the long term. The Congress mobilität querdenken is designed to help you open your eyes and think QUERTIALLY across industries and technology boundaries, to network and think ahead together with visionaries. This is where the most diverse players in the mobility ecosystem come together: Automobile manufacturers, suppliers, transport companies, mobility providers, urban planners, municipalities, ... At the Congress mobilität querdenken we jointly set impulses and thought-provoking impulses for the design of a new mobility ecosystem.

This year, we are part of the NUREMBERG DIGITAL FESTIVAL s (WEB WEEK). The Nuremberg Digital Festival (formerly: Nuremberg Web Week) is an annual series of events organized by the digital society for the entire Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. Events, conferences, actions, workshops and meetings take place around the central topics of digitalization and its impact on our lives. For the first time during the Nuremberg Digital Festival, a separate program track on the topic of mobility will take place. The Mobility Track will bring together players from the mobility industry from October 15 to 20, 2018. In various formats (from BarCamp to Hackaton) you can address questions about future mobility.

Positive user experience and high usability - yes, but how?

"Positive user experience and high usability - yes, but how?" Know-how about usability and user experience (UUX) is a decisive competitive factor for companies. In the consciousness of many companies, this has also already arrived. However, the step to consistent implementation is often missing - why? Scarce resources - internally and at the customer as well as often a low acceptance in rather technically oriented development teams or but also many open questions.

  • Why is usability and user experience so important?
  • How can you develop products & services with a high usability and user experience?
  • How can you test usability and user experience?
  • How can you quantify usability and user experience?

To these and many other questions, we devote ourselves together with experts following the congress "Mobility lateral thinking", because for the mobility of the future UUX plays a significant role: intuitive usability of mobility apps and charging stations, software interfaces in the vehicle, which must be intended for shared use and entertainment and communication systems in the vehicle, which are becoming increasingly important for the user.

At the end of the day, experience an exciting technical presentation by Daniel Ziegler, Research Associate Competence Team User Experience, Fraunhofer IAO, Stuttgart. Get to know practical approaches and methods on how these topics can be tackled specifically and discuss your personal questions afterwards.

Bayern Innovativ is a project partner within the federal project "Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Usability" and this is the start of a roadshow on the topic throughout Bavaria.

Congress mobility lateral thinking

October 18, 2018, Poolhouse, Nuremberg

Public transport representatives, aviation experts, automotive industry employees, bicycle visionaries, founders, scientists, industrial designers, architects, consultants, rail representatives provided exciting impulses and food for thought on how mobility could be better designed in the future.

And that is urgently needed: commuting to work, shopping, doctor's visits, business trips, vacations, package deliveries, freight transport... our mobility has changed drastically in recent decades and with it traffic. Currently, 43 million vehicles are registered in private households and most people use them daily. The consequences: Traffic jams, noise and pollutant emissions, crowded roads and parking lots. Due to increasing urbanization, this is felt particularly strongly in the megacities of this world. "Cities are bursting at the seams," says Lisa Füting, Corporate Strategy, Audi Business Innovation GmbH.

Mobility as a service

The entire mobility industry is working on solutions. Mobility services such as SmartParking, RideSharing, CarOnDemand, (P2P) CarSharing or integrating mobility platforms seem particularly promising here. These services aim to make the use of vehicles more efficient and thus more sustainable. Digitalization is the driver and enabler of innovation and has completely turned existing business models, existing companies, and provider and customer relationships on their heads. An interesting app was presented by the start-up two-ride at the congress. The ride-sharing app B2Ride brings together employees from different companies in, for example, city districts and business parks. Employees are to be motivated to carpool via bonus programs and competitions.

Traffic flow optimization with new technologies and ideas

How quantum computing can help meet the challenges of cities is demonstrated by a traffic flow optimization project in Beijing. "Instead of performing a computational operation successively for all values, quantum computers can perform a large number of possible computational steps in parallel. This allows them to process huge amounts of data that currently seem infinite to us," said Dr. Gabriele Compostella, Data Scientist at Volkswagen Data:LAB. In his presentation, he described how driving data from several hundred cabs was analyzed and optimal routes calculated. A start-up from the Bosch Group also wants to optimize traffic flow and presented the app Triffix. This is intended to send Stuttgart road users relevant route information such as traffic jams or accident reports in real time. The information for this as well as recommendations for action come directly from the traffic control center. This year, for the 5th time, the mobilität querdenken congress successfully brought together more than 160 forward and lateral thinkers from the automotive and mobility industries, (IT) service companies & software companies as well as municipalities and presented innovative ideas from the mobility ecosystem. The congress was conceived and organized by the Automotive Cluster of Bayern Innovativ GmbH with support from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology and the Center for Digitalization.Bayern.
