Workshop
Data Rooms in the Manufacturing Industry: Opportunities for Data-Driven (Business) Processes in the Supply Chain
28. September 2026
13:00 - 17:00
VDMA e.V.,
How can you plan your production more efficiently and streamline processes—while also implementing solutions such as the Digital Product Passport and automated reporting?
Efficient companies automatically share data—from product data and models to bills of materials, machine data, and process data—with their business partners. Data rooms make it possible to share data with customers and suppliers in a cost-effective and secure manner, on your own terms. Find out how you can leverage this potential for your business!
In this workshop, you’ll learn in a clear and practical way:
- How to take advantage of the opportunities offered by data rooms.
- In which specific areas your company can benefit from direct, secure, and controlled data exchange.
- How to take the first steps toward data provision and use within your own organization.
You’ll also receive a practical checklist.
The workshop is aimed at small and medium-sized industrial companies. No prior knowledge of digitalization is required.
This workshop is organized by the SCALE-MX project in cooperation with the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Middle Franconia, the Bavarian Chemical Cluster, and LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co. KG.
SCALE-MX is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
- Frank Schnicke, Fraunhofer IESE, on the topic of digital product passports in the pharmaceutical and steel industries
- Representatives from Wacker Chemie AG, LEONHARD KURZ (thin-film technology), the GEMÜ Group (valves for industrial applications), REHAU Industries (processor of plastics and polymer solutions), and Heidolph Instruments (manufacturer of laboratory equipment for the chemical industry)
- Additional speakers are still to be confirmed.
Registration is open until September 21, 2026 . Once you register, a confirmation of receipt will be sent automatically. If the event is overbooked (more than 30 registrations), you will be offered a spot on the waiting list instead. Registrations from companies in the manufacturing and industrial sectors will be given priority.
Participation is free of charge.
