Thinknet 6G is pleased to join forces with the Münchner Kreis to host the first of three online networking evenings in the “Digital Infrastructures and AI” series. The kickoff event will provide an overview of the key connections between digital infrastructures and AI from technological, strategic, and practical perspectives. The focus will be on current developments, challenges, and opportunities across the entire value chain of digital infrastructures.

Digital infrastructures and artificial intelligence influence each other: On the one hand, AI requires high-performance data centers, cloud and edge infrastructures, high-speed networks, and a secure and sustainable energy supply. On the other hand, AI helps make these very infrastructures smarter, more efficient, and more resilient. The international competition for AI is therefore also a competition for data, computing power, communication networks, energy supply, and digital platforms. Together, they form the foundation of the digital future.

Among other things, the following questions will be discussed:

  • How can scalable and high-performance AI infrastructures be built?
  • What role do data centers, cloud platforms, communication networks, and energy supply play in the AI of the future?
  • How can European and German stakeholders succeed in the international competition?
  • What new applications and business models are emerging from the increasing integration of AI and digital infrastructures?
  • What impact will the rapid developments in AI have on future network architectures and digital ecosystems?

The event is aimed at specialists and executives from the telecommunications, cloud, and AI infrastructure sectors, as well as industry, academia, politics, and innovation and standardization organizations.

Further information about the program and free registration can be found on the Münchner Kreis website. We look forward to your participation and to exchanging ideas with you.

Networking Evening 1: September 24, 2026 - AI Needs Infrastructure — The Foundation of the Digital Future
The kickoff event will explore the fundamental connections between AI and digital infrastructures. The focus is on the technological, economic, and strategic demands that modern AI systems place on data centers, cloud platforms, communication networks, and energy supply.

Networking Evening 2: AI in Practice – Requirements for Digital Infrastructures
Using concrete application examples, the requirements that AI systems place on digital infrastructures will be discussed. What conditions must be met to deploy AI in a scalable, high-performance, and reliable manner in practice?

Networking Evening 3: AI Infrastructures of the Future – Architectures, Networking, and Sovereignty
What infrastructures are needed to support future AI applications? The focus is on architectural concepts for AI infrastructures, European and German approaches, the role of future communication networks, and issues of technological sovereignty.
